Located in the heart of Washington, DC, The National Museum of American Diplomacy (NMAD) tells the story of the history, practice, and challenges of American diplomacy. Through exhibitions and programs, they inspire the American public to discover diplomacy and how it impacts their lives every day. Through this work, the museum aims to create a more collaborative world. As a creative director for NMAD I lead a team of designers, user experience strategists, copywriters and developers for both print and digital properties. Responsibilities range from the creation of a suite of case statement materials for their capital funding campaign to the launch of their state-of-the-art website and online exhibition space.
Case Study: Diplomacy Decision Points — The online interactive game Diplomacy Decision Points provides users the chance to play the role of a diplomat and practice their diplomacy skills. We collaborated in building a game platform that was engaging and informative, all the while linking back to their main website to build deeper learning opportunities from real-world examples. We worked to craft an interactive that would feel at home in the NMAD brand family, but distinctly different from the main website and geared specifically towards high school students. In addition, it was strategically designed in a way that post-launch the NMAD team could easily create additional scenarios with new stories and visual content without needing to hire outside support.
