Harvard Graduate School of Education

Every child deserves to have their education begin with a solid foundation. Yet in the U.S. there is currently no coordinated system underlying our nation’s pre-kindergarten education programs. While elementary and high schools have networks of school boards, state and federal entities, and nonprofit players, pre-k educators have long been siloed, understudied, and under-resourced. However, the tide has begun to shift. Stakeholders across the country are recognizing the importance of bridging policies, understanding gaps, and scaling successes across city, county, and state lines. The Saul Zaentz Early Education Initiative at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (Zaentz HGSE) is meeting this moment.

As the creative director of record for Zaentz HGSE’s digital presence, I lead a team of designers, user experience strategists, and technologists where my responsibilities range from the development of sub-brand identities to the creation of new websites.

Case Study: Zaentz Navigator — Expanding on the concept of a traditional data dashboard, the Zaentz Navigator is an interactive, user-friendly tool to assist policymakers and researchers in understanding how cities and states across the country are building foundational pre-k support as they work to improve early education and care. We collaborated in naming the tool (The Zaentz Navigator: A Strategic Tool for Early Education), crafting a fresh logo that aligns with their brand fonts and colors, and designing and building the fully responsive and accessible website experience.
